A discussion of the underlying principles behind the operation of a geothermal heat pump system. How geothermal heat pumps work, why they work and when they work. The economic and environmental advantages of employing a geothermal heat pump. A brief overview of the geometries and available configurations of the various type of heat pumps and other components of a geothermal heat pump system. A description and discussion of the various methods of earth coupling geothermal heat pumps. Presented by Mike Zimmerman, PE of Allied Consulting Engineering Services, Inc. of Sudbury, Massachusetts and Warwick, Rhode Island.
Mike has been a guest lecturer at the Harvard Graduate School of Design and has presented a number of educational sessions at Build Boston.
